What an affiliate link is

Some links on TheChainPost, typically on how-to-buy guides and exchange comparison pages, are affiliate links. If a reader clicks one and signs up or deposits on the destination, the publication may receive a commission. That commission is most often a share of trading fees or a one-off bounty. Reader pricing is never affected.

Where affiliate links appear

• How-to-buy guides, for example under/how-to-buy/bitcoin. Links are clearly labeled inline.
• Price and coin pages, which carry a small “Where to buy” card with affiliate links when available. The card is clearly labeled.
• Explainer articles where a specific exchange is referenced for context, only when the reference is directly relevant.

Where affiliate links do not appear

• News reporting. When the desk covers an exchange in a news story, links are informational rather than affiliated.
• Opinion or analysis. Editorial content has no sponsored undertone.
• Coverage of a partner’s own negative news.When the desk reports on an exploit, fine, or collapse involving a partner, the partnership is disclosed in the piece and the link runs without the affiliate tag.

Which partners the publication works with

The newsroom targets regulated exchanges with transparent fee structures and adequate disclosures. The current partner list is published on the advertise page and updated when partnerships start or end. Unregulated, offshore, or reputation-damaged venues are excluded, even when they offer the highest bounty.

Regulatory compliance

The publication follows the US FTC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials under 16 CFR Part 255, the UK CMA guidance on influencer marketing, and the EU Digital Services Act transparency rules. A clear “affiliate link” label appears on every paid link.
