Dogecoin vs Optimism FAQ

What is Dogecoin?
Dogecoin (DOGE) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency launched in 2013 as a meme coin. It uses Litecoin's Scrypt algorithm (merged-mined with LTC since 2014), has no supply cap, and adds 10 000 DOGE per block with 1-minute block times.
Is Dogecoin controlled by anyone?
No. The Dogecoin Foundation coordinates protocol development but does not control issuance or consensus. Celebrity attention (notably Elon Musk) has historically driven price spikes but the network itself is open-source and decentralised.
What is Optimism?
Optimism is an optimistic rollup L2 on Ethereum, launched mainnet 2021 by OP Labs. The broader project is the Optimism Collective — a bicameral governance with the Token House (OP holders) and Citizens' House (soulbound voting for Retroactive Public Goods Funding).
What is the OP Stack?
Open-source codebase for launching optimistic rollups. Base (Coinbase), World Chain, Zora, Mode, and dozens of others are OP Stack chains. Together they form the "Superchain" — shared sequencing infrastructure, bridging, and a common governance layer. It is the dominant rollup framework by chain count.
