Allium, a blockchain data platform, has raised $40 million in a Series B round led by Amplify Partners. Kleiner Perkins and Theory Ventures also participated in the funding.

The startup sells structured blockchain data to institutional traders and firms that need to query transaction history, smart contract interactions, and on-chain activity at scale. The core tension in crypto infrastructure is speed: retail-grade analytics tools publish data with a lag, while institutional desks need near-real-time feeds to act on market moves.

Allium competes in a crowded market. Nansen, Glassnode, and Dune Analytics have already built substantial user bases by packaging blockchain data into dashboards and APIs. Allium's angle is institutional reach and data latency, though the newsroom has not independently verified performance claims.

The Series B underscores ongoing appetite among established venture firms for crypto infrastructure plays, even as regulatory uncertainty persists across major markets. Amplify Partners has backed other blockchain infrastructure companies and sits at the intersection of traditional finance and crypto.

Funding rounds in crypto analytics have slowed from 2021 and 2022 peaks, when data platforms were seen as de facto plays on chain growth itself. This round suggests some rebound in investor confidence, at least for teams pursuing institutional rather than retail distribution.
