Bitcoin Suisse has received a Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market, the regulator for Abu Dhabi's international financial center. The license, granted to its subsidiary BTCS (Middle East) Ltd., clears the Swiss firm to offer regulated digital asset services to institutional and professional clients across the UAE.
The permission authorizes BTCS ME to provide custody, trading of approved virtual assets, and tools for managing digital asset exposure within a regulated framework. Each client receives a dedicated relationship manager. Bitcoin Suisse, founded in Zug in 2013, holds $3.7 billion in crypto assets under management and operates as the fourth-largest staking operator globally.
Ceyda Majcen, Chief Executive Officer of BTCS ME, said in a statement that the license reflects the firm's decade-plus track record building infrastructure and client relationships. "The authorization reflects more than a decade of experience building resilient infrastructure, risk frameworks, and trusted client relationships," she said. The firm plans to prepare for tokenized real-world asset offerings as that market develops.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai have built competing regulatory frameworks to attract institutional crypto infrastructure. This Abu Dhabi permission marks Bitcoin Suisse's fourth licensed jurisdiction, alongside Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Bermuda. The license gives the firm a regulated entry point into a market where major institutional players have already sought regional footholds.
Bitcoin Suisse employs more than 200 people and positions itself as a wealth management provider for digital assets serving foundations, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals. The move signals confidence in UAE demand for institutional-grade custody and trading infrastructure at a moment when regulatory clarity has become a competitive edge for established firms entering new markets.
