Morgan Stanley’s spot Bitcoin ETF is outperforming BlackRock’s this week, according to CoinDesk coverage (via Finbold) citing SoSoValue.

From the start of the week through April 30, Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) pulled in $10.81 million, Finbold reports. During Monday and Tuesday, MSBT posted zero total cash flow and still held Bitcoin worth about $197.7 million at press time, per SoSoValue.

Over the same period, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded a net cash outflow of $166.98 million, Finbold reports. That outflow ended IBIT’s 13 straight days of inflows, and IBIT held Bitcoin valued at roughly $61.11 billion at the time of publication, again based on SoSoValue data.

Finbold frames Morgan Stanley’s push as part of a broader bid to pressure IBIT. The ETF’s fee schedule is one lever. Finbold says MSBT charges 0.14% per year, versus IBIT’s 0.25% as of reporting time, and notes Morgan Stanley “heightened the fee war” after entering the spot BTC ETF market.

Finbold also includes a portfolio-allocation comment tied to Bitcoin 2026, quoting Amy Oldenburg, head of digital assets strategy at Morgan Strategy. Finbold reports that Morgan has recommended investors allocate 2% to 4% of their portfolios to Bitcoin. The piece adds that Morgan Stanley manages about $9.2 trillion in total client assets, which Finbold suggests could translate into large potential demand, although it also notes BlackRock manages nearly $14 trillion and thus holds a scale advantage.

As always with these assets, ETF inflows and outflows are not guarantees of performance. They do tell you where buyers and sellers are showing up, and this week’s SoSoValue-based snapshot points to MSBT attracting less attention for outflows than IBIT.
